Help complete the record

Know of Hibernian records we’ve missed?

The catalog grows through the eyes of researchers, members, and archivists. Submit a new collection in the standard format below, or use the same form to suggest an edit to an existing entry — just reference its accession number (the code shown near the top of every entry page, e.g. AOH-0042) so we know which record you mean. Every submission reaches the National Archivist for review before anything is published or changed.

The standard submission format

Please provide as much as you can — the first four are essential.

  1. Collection or item title — the name as the holding institution lists it.
  2. Holding repository — the library, archive, or society that keeps it.
  3. Location — city and U.S. state.
  4. Link to the finding aid — the catalog page or URL at that institution.
  5. Date range — for example “1905–present,” or “circa 1890.”
  6. Material type — photographs, publications, artifacts, and so on.
  7. Description & your source — what it contains, and how you came to know of it.

Don’t worry about getting the format perfect — the National Archivist reviews and corrects every submission before it becomes part of the catalog. It’s far more useful to send an incomplete lead than to hold back because a detail is missing.

Submit a collection, or suggest an edit

Use the form below for either purpose. If you’re suggesting a correction to a record that’s already in the catalog, please start your message with the entry’s accession number (for example, AOH-0042) so the Archivist can find it quickly — you can find that number near the top of any entry page.

Regarding a specific entry

So we can follow up. Not published.

For a new collection, tell us the repository, location, and a link if you have one.
