Description
Letter (dated August 30, 1877) addressed to E. B. Sturges from Benjamin Franklin, Superintendent of the Philadelphia office of the Pinkerton Detective Agency. The letter relates to the Pinkerton investigation of the general strike in Scranton, Pa. Franklin notes than an Irish operative was infiltrating the local chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
