The Archives, Special Collections, & Digital Initiatives Department, supports the mission of Copley Library and the University of San Diego by collecting, arranging, preserving, and making accessible archival, rare, and unique materials for teaching, learning, and research. The University Archives provides access to primary sources that document the development, history, organization, people, and policies of the university. Digital Initiatives promote scholarly communication through open access to university scholarship and by creating accessible and sustainable digital collections. The Southern Cross is the official newspaper of the Catholic Dioceses of San Diego and San Bernardino.
